Dear families,
As we look forward to the Total Solar Eclipse in our state on April 8, 2024, we want to prepare our students to experience this unique phenomenon with their families.
We will have virtual asynchronous instruction on April 8th, which means no school at ISD. All teachers will be at the school for professional development, and your child(ren) will have school assignments to work on from home that day. For residential students, the dorms will open at 6:00pm on Monday, April 8th. We hope your child(ren) can enjoy this experience, as the next Total Solar Eclipse that will be visible in the United States will be in 2044.
As the Eclipse gets closer, we will provide more information, safety guidelines for viewing, and activities for your child(ren) to do while the Moon is covering the Sun.
