Human Resources (HR) is responsible for managing the employee life cycle (i.e., recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, retirement help, and terminating employees) and administering employee benefits. Human Resources services are provided to Indiana School for the Deaf through the Indiana State Personnel Department (INSPD). More information can be found at www.in.gov/spd. ​

Standardized policies for state employees are issued by the INSPD and apply to those state government agencies and employees identified in the scope of each policy statement. Responsibilities are assigned and procedures for implementation are described in the Responsibilities and Procedures section of each policy.
