Deaf Heritage Day @ Conner Prairie
Updated: Nov 12, 2019
ISD, Conner Prairie and LUNA Language Services have collaborated to host Deaf Heritage Day at Conner Prairie on Saturday, September 28th from 11a-3p. Featured on this day will be a replica of an 1800’s Deaf school with a Deaf actress telling the story of Willard’s vision for Deaf education in Indiana. This is a great time to celebrate the Deaf community and all the work that has been put into deaf education over the years. The ultimate goal is for Conner Prairie to have a permanent Deaf history exhibit on their grounds, so we need a lot of support from the ASL community to make this happen!
Please help us get the word out about this event to friends, families, co-workers…anyone who touches the ASL world by sharing the attached flyer.
Saturday, September 28th was chosen on purpose to coincide with ISD’s Homecoming events so that families could see what’s happening at Conner Prairie between morning and afternoon events at ISD. There will even be an admissions coupon on the ISD 5K running bib.
Thank you, in advance, for helping us spread the word and we’ll see you there!
