Indiana Health Department School Dashboard
The Indiana Department of Health has released the first school-related COVID-19 dashboard. School data is available to the public and is searchable by the school. Indiana State Health Department Commissioner, Dr. Kristina Box has said that participation is not required, however, the Indiana School for the Deaf has elected to participate. Schools reporting fewer than five positive cases will have their data suppressed to protect privacy. Please keep in mind that the Health Department does not inform the district when there is a positive case with a staff member or student. The parent/guardian or staff member must share that information. District data for this dashboard and internal practices in mitigating spread of COVID-19 will only be as good as the information that is provided.
Since the start of school on August 31, there have been 0 positive student cases.
Many thanks to our parents for their ongoing support of the mask mandate. Our students have done a great job masking up!
A reminder to families that students should stay home if they have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting on test results, or have symptoms of COVID-19, per guidance from the state health department.
These symptoms include:
Fever above 100 º F when taken by mouth
New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students or staff with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
New onset of severe headache, especially with fever
Loss of taste/smell
Additionally, students should stay home if they are identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive or if someone they live with is a close contact and has symptoms or tests positive.
