About ISD » Donations

The Indiana legislature provides 100% of the Indiana School for the Deaf's (ISD) operating budget - no lottery funds or local property tax dollars - which public schools in the state receive. The general fund provides the very basic costs of teacher and staff salaries, utilities, food and facilities upkeep.
Sponsorships, gifts, and grants from community partners, alumni, and friends provide additional funds that allow ISD to make a difference in the lives of children that attend our school. From Pre-Kindergarten to 22 years of age, more than 300 students have the opportunity to Belong, Excel and Thrive due to the generous philanthropic support of donors like you. Each contribution/donation is a significant investment in the lifelong success of our students.
Your tax deductible donation helps provide:
  • Reading programs
  • Tutoring support services
  • Media resources
  • Educational training opportunities, materials and resources
  • Adaptive technologies
  • Performing arts programs
  • Athletic programs and events
  • Clubs and extracurricular activities
  • Recreational activities and equipment
  • Summer camp program
The above programs, equipment and materials are made available for our students that otherwise could not be possible.
