ISD School iPad Policy

  • iPads are not permitted in the cafeteria, gym or restrooms.
  • iPad volume must be turned off during school hours. Use of ear buds or headphones is not allowed. 
  • VP, FaceTime, and OoVoo are not permitted during school hours unless part of a school assignment.
  • iPads should be secured at all times when not in use.
  • Games and non-educational apps are not permitted during school hours.
  • iPads should remain closed while in the hallway or moving between classes.
  • No borrowing iPads. Students will use and keep their own iPad.

Starting in August of 2017, students in grades 6-12 will need to pay a $40 technology fee before receiving their ISD iPad.  This fee will allow ISD to purchase insurance coverage for the device.  The insurance policy will greatly reduce the need for any other fees relating to iPad damages.  The policy covers accidental damage to the iPad and charging cord as well as theft that is documented with an official police report.  The policy does not cover mechanical malfunctions, lost items, or intentional damage to the iPad or case.  


The fee may be paid in cash, check, or via PayPal. Cash and check can be mailed to ISD before the school year starts or sent with your child on the first day of school. You can click the button on the Educational Technology page to pay with PayPal. Remember: Your child will not get his/her iPad until this fee is paid. Many classes require the use of the iPad for access to important resources and textbooks, so please pay as soon as possible.
