CEASD 2018 Board of Directors

At the recent 2018 CEASD Conference at St. Augustine, Florida, a new Board of Directors were inducted. Dr. David Geeslin, Superintendent/CEO from our very own Indiana School for the Deaf is the President of CEASD. Jeff Bravin, Executive Director from American School for the Deaf is President-Elect of CEASD. Stacey Katz Shapiro, Director of Student Services & Outreach from Atlanta Area School for the Deaf is Secretary. Mindi Failing, Principal from Model Secondary School for the Deaf is Treasurer. Please congratulate them as they begin their journey with CEASD if you see them around the nation.

Hello! We’re here today to let you all know of an exciting fundraising opportunity. Sometimes, with your children here at ISD, various expenses and fees will come up such as activity fee, uniforms/clothing, supplies, plane fees for out of state tournaments and so on. 2018 Academic Bowl Champions!

Last weekend, 20 teams from all over the U.S. travelled to Gallaudet University to compete in the 2018 National Academic Bowl competition. Our Indiana School for the Deaf Academic Bowl Team defended their 2017 Championship. Congratulations to Caitlin Lynch, Max Skjeveland, Kate Lorenzo, Franco Bippus, and coaches, Chuck Daube and Mary Kovatch. Franco Bippus also won the Most Outstanding Player for the second time. The Indiana School for the Deaf now holds 5 National Academic Bowl Championships.
