Dorms

Mission Statement

The residential program staff offers opportunities for self-growth by stressing self- improvement, integration, collaboration and personal achievement.

Residential Program

Student Life's primary responsibility is to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for all residential students. ISD programs are specifically designed to provide the best possible environment that is free of language barriers, along with opportunities for student growth, development, and achievement. The residential hall programs emphasize integration, collaboration, and equality in fostering opportunities and experiences in self-education and self-improvement.

Non-day students will occupy a room on a full-time basis normally starting from Sunday after 6:00 p.m. until Friday after school. ISD provides room and board, as well as a living environment that supports the student's academic and personal goals. Any student staying in the dorm is required to comply with ISD's Student Code of Conduct.

Visiting Students

Parents are very welcome to visit their child in his/her residential hall at any time by contacting the appropriate Dean. Please remember to contact your child's Dean in advance when visiting. If overnight housing arrangements are needed, parents should contact the Student Life Office. Please give advance notice to reserve guest room(s).

Weekend Visitation/Overnight Policy for Residential Students

If a student wishes to invite another student to their home for the weekend, it is required that a Special Visitation Request Form be completed and submitted to the student's Dean on or before the Wednesday prior to the weekend of visitation. Once full permission has been given and a date has been established, it is the parents' responsibility to communicate the change to the local school district's transportation services (i.e., Host family to notify bus service about visiting student and visitor to notify bus of their child's absence).

Please Note: All changes in transportation must be communicated by the parents to the local transportation service as well as the appropriate Dean.
