SOAR-High
Quilt Project
High School Earth
System Science

This project will require
collaboration with other students and schools involved in
SOAR-High
Earth System Science. Students in different classes will exchange
quilt
blocks with students at other schools, then each school will assemble
the blocks
into a quilted wall hanging.
Materials required for making the quilt blocks:
good quality "PFD" white muslin or cotton that has been
Prepared For Dyeing,
(if you cannot find PFD fabric,you can make it yourself with these
directions)
scissors, ruler, permanent fabric markers or fabric paint, plastic
wrap,
white paper, beaker, water, leaves, hammer, and
"Creative Copy" photo transfer paper for quilt fabric, medium
lift quilt batting,
and muslin/cotton fabric for the quilt border and backing


Optional quilting supplies
that are helpful:
rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler
