The Jason Project Quilt

This year, the Jason Project has taken students to the far northern reaches
of Alaska to study Earth's arctic cryosphere. Students have learned about the
different kinds of glaciers, the animals that survive in this frozen world, and the
impact Earth's changing weather patterns has had on this harsh environment.
As part of the Jason Project, schools and teachers can participate in a
quilting project that allows them to exchange quilt squares with schools in the
United States and other countries. This is the first year ISD students have
participated in the quilt project. We are exchanging quilt squares with schools in
Australia, Ohio, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Virginia, Michigan, New York, Texas,
Alaska, California, South Carolina, and Maine. Each student in the SOAR-High Earth
Science class made 6 squares, three to keep and three to exchange with other schools.
