Science in ISD's high school department is a fantastic voyage of incredible
learning,
out-of-this-world destinations, and magnificient experiences:
-
Scuba diving in coral reefs and flying single-engine aircraft
- Creating
our own wetlands and tall grass prairie
- Viewing
space shuttle launches at the Kennedy Space Center
- Participating
in experiments using seeds from NASA and a plant growth chamber from Purdue University
- Sending
a Life Science Experiment up into space onboard the space shuttle Atlantis
inside a Get Away Special (GAS) Canister
- Using
IP videoconferencing and sharing SOAR-High Earth System Science via the Internet with other
Schools for the Deaf
- Participating
in the international GLOBE Learning Expedition in Sibenik, Croatia
- Participating in the "Faults in the Field" geology expeditions to Utah and Massachusetts
