Day 1, June 13, 2007

Ann (ISD)

Hello everyone! Today is the day that we all have looked foward to ever since we all got our certifications at the chilly Blue Springs. However, we all didn't look so thrilled due to the lack of sleep, I suspect. At 9:30 am we all met up at the airport and was all ready to take off. As we took off, most of us were already asleep and some of us were getting to know one other. It took about forty minutes to get to Detroit, Michigan and when we landed there we all were starving and ate at the All-American restaurant, McDonald's. Ok, ok, so it's not an All-American restaurant, but it's McDonald's! After that, we walked to the tram that took us to our gate and when we got there, we had to wait 2 hours for our next flight. While waiting, Gabriel, Matt, Tyler, Corey, and I played a card game called Skipbo and it got a bit boring since Matt was getting pretty lucky and eventually won the game. When the game ended, Gabriel and I played another card game called Phase 10. It was really fun, but we weren't able to finish the game because we were ready to board the plane. When we all boarded the plane, we sat in seperate seats and as for me, I got stuck between two strangers and one of them ...... I have to say ... smelled bad. Luckily, while in air the smell faded away, Thankfully! I read all the way and as for the rest, I have no idea. Finally! We have landed in the sunshine state! But it wasn't even sunshiny at all! It was dull and was raining. Anyway, we got our bags and waited in the lobby of the van rental. The boys were playing some kind of kickball game with a mini beach ball. At last, we got the van, loaded up, and headed to Cocoa Beach. We stopped at Taco Bell along the way and there we shared some laugher with having Gabriel eating seven tacos and beans. Oh poor whoever-is-Gabriel's roommate! At last we checked into our hotel and hit the sack!

Hey! I hope everybody is doing well. We had some grueling flight arrangements, such as thunderstorms and whatnot. We are still alive, though. We were all pretty excited about going on this special trip and being here really takes the experience up a notch. We got on the plane to take us to Detroit, Michigan and I was assigned next to a large man who was larger than both our seats. I hurt badly afterwards. Then, after about an hour, we got to Detroit and had a three hour layover until we got on the flight to Orlando, Florida. We had about a three hour flight to Orlando. Once we got close to Orlando there were thunderstorms and we had to go around them. We finally got out of there and went to rent our vans, which took forever and a day. When we got our vans, after like five customers behind us got their vans first, we drove to Cocoa Beach to our hotel. The hotel is pretty nice and we are going to bed. Mommy, a.k.a. Ms. Piety, says that we have to go to bed now, so bye-bye from Florida.
