Yesterday
was the last day we spent at Cocoa Beach. I got up a little later than
we normally did days before. I got breakfast, and then check my e-mail,
and then we headed out. We went over to Bill's apartment, and saw 4
or 5 manatees and a dolphin up close. I actualy got to touch the manatee
on its back, stomach, and nose!! It was awesome! I fed them fresh water
from the hose by the dock, they loved it! The "alpha" manatee
was fighting with the others to get to the hose! In the end it was really
awesome to see the manatees up close and personal! Then, we went inside
the apartment, signed the guest book, had a little bathroom break, and
left. It was a long and boring drive down there. I ened up watching
The Italian Job with Brad. We got to the best part(so he says) and his
battery died!! Such dissapointment! haha! We had lunch @ Arbys; the
food was great however the people there were extremly rude! It was terrible!
Once we got back on the road an isolated thunder storm hit, and it got
pretty nasty outside for a little awhile. I thought that we might have
to oull over and wait for it stop and then continue to drive, but we
didn't. It was pretty scary(for me) for a little but because you couldn't
see the road that well and lots of people were acting pretty stupid!
When we stopped for gas, bathroom break, and snacks Kailee was telling
about how bad the smell was in their van. Someones feet was stinking
up the van and it wasn't a very fun ride. (No names will be mention
on whos feet it was) Last part of the ride was probably the longest
and the worst because the laptop died and we all were tired. Brad and
I listened to his I-pod and Miss. Piety decided to quiz us on trivia.
Mostly U.S Presidents, geography, and British History. I did all right
for the most part, however I am not ready to appear on game show. We
FINALLY arrived at the suites and we walked around for a little bit
and saw the beach. Not much to see there! The pool was nice though and
the rooms are great! I get my own bed! yay! After we unloaded everything
we went to dinner and we all had a great time. I sat with Nyle, Randy,
Kailee, Gab, Shaikera, and Sarah. I had a lot of questions about how
deaf kids learned how to read and it was difficult for them to learn
how to sign at first. They helped me with learning some basic signs
for communication. Overall, my favorite part of the day was dinner because
we all got a chance to get to know each other and better understand
how we all can communicate with each other. The trip is going great!
Can't wait for the dives!! =]

Yesterday
was our last day at Cocoa Beach. Most of us slept in until maybe 8 am
then went to eat breakfast at the hotel. After eating breakfast, we
brought our bags and put it in the van then left right away to Bill's
condo. When we arrived at Bill's condo, Bill wasn't there because he
had to go to church. So, we all waited on the dock and we got the best
view of the condo. We all saw several dolphins close to us. Then we
walked to the manatee area and saw some manatees there. We got the chance
to pet the manatees there and feed them water from the dock's "water
fountain". Manatees really love the water from the fountain, they
even fought with each other for water. Finally, Bill arrived and brought
his dog named Tika. We stayed at the dock a few more minutes and petted
Bill's dog. Then, we went to Bill's house and wrote our names in Bill's
guest book. After going to Bill's condo, we all left Cocoa Beach for
good. Our first stop during the trip was lunch at Arby's. After lunch,
some of us bought snacks at a gas station that was connected with Arby's.
After the first stop, we drove for about 1 hour then the storm came.
It was so rainy that we could hardly see the road! That storm caused
us to drive longer and forced the driver to stop for gas. While we got
gas, most of us went to the rest room and bought some more snacks. After
the last stop at the gas station, it was another 45 minutes to the hotel
suites where we stay at Key Largo. We arrived at the hotel suites. It
was very hot and humid. At the condo, there were lots of lizards there
and some of us tried to catch them. The rooms at the hotel suites are
really nice. They have one king size bed, two twin size beds, and one
sofa that folds out into a bed. After getting our rooms, we went to
eat dinner at Craig's. Most of us ordered sandwiches, and it was really
good food. After the dinner, we went to our teacher's hotel suite and
had a meeting with Bill about rules, what to except in diving in the
ocean, and some general information. At last, we went back to our rooms,
packed our scuba equipment, then went to bed! My most favorite thing
today was seeing dolphins and petting manatees.
We watched manatees from the docks at Bill's condo.
The manatees rolled over on their backs to drink
freshwater.
While a manatee snacks on plants, everyone had fun petting Tika, Bill's
& Jennifer's poodle.
