In order to be considered for induction students must demonstrate qualities in their everyday lives that uphold the 4 tenets of the National Honor Society (NHS):
- Character (friendly, social, respectful, rule and law abiding)
- Scholarship (3.0 GPA or above, and consistently high grades in all classes)
- Leadership (mentoring other students, holding jobs or positions of authority in their community)
- Service (providing voluntary service to their school and community without monetary compensation)
Candidates will be informed of eligibility during 1st quarter and will be required to fill out an application in order to be considered for induction. Upon application submission, a committee will vote on who is inducted. An induction ceremony will be held in the Fall and more information about the ceremony (open to families and ISD stakeholders) will be forthcoming.
