Young Deaf Arts Festival

HANDS ALIVE! is an annual celebration of the talents and skills of ISD students in various artistic pursuits.  Students are given the opportunity to explore the arts in four distinct areas:

• Literary Contest
• Art Contest
• ASL Literary Contest
• Talent Show
• Master/Mistress of Ceremonies Audition Form
• HANDS ALIVE! Community Flyer
• HANDS ALIVE! Talent Show Application
• HANDS ALIVE! Brochures Pick Up Locations

2009 Information:

This year's celebration will take place during the week of March 16, 2009.  All student entries in the Art, Literary, and ASL Literary competitions will be displayed at the HANDS ALIVE! Galleria (Paul Baldridge room at the Vocational Building) from March 16-27.  Family and friends are encouraged to view these displays.

Talent Show competitions will take place:

• Elementary: Monday, March 16 at 9 A.M.
• Middle School: Monday, March 16 at 12:15 P.M.
• High School: Tuesday, March 17 at 9 A.M.
• Finale: Thursday, March 19 at 9 A.M. (students and staff only)

Community Show: Thursday, March 19 at 7 P.M.

Tickets will be on sale for the Elementary, Middle School, and High School shows for $5.00 each.

Tickets for the Show of Champions will be on sale for $10.00 each.
